This initiative supports the development of small-scale, sustainable aquaculture systems using integrated multi-trophic aquaculture (IMTA) in remote coastal communities across South-East Asia and northern Australia.
Led by LoTech Aquaculture, the initiative treats aquaculture as natural infrastructure: restoring marine ecosystems, improving water quality and supporting local livelihoods. The programme delivers modular hatcheries, hands-on training and reliable market access, with profits reinvested through transparent, community-managed funds.
Early pilot sites focus on co-culturing seaweed and sandfish (Holothuria scabra), helping to regenerate seabeds and diversify income for smallholder farmers.
